Victor Perez started the season in superb fashion after becoming the first Frenchman to win a Rolex Series event with victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. That triumph came eight months after sealing a second DP World Tour title at the 2022 Dutch Open, defeating Ryan Fox in a play-off on the fourth extra hole, with Perez holing birdie putts from 15 feet and then 30 feet on the 18^th to keep it alive, before sinking another long one on the 17^th to secure victory.
