Victor Perez started the season in superb fashion after becoming the first Frenchman to win a Rolex Series event with victory at the Abu Dhabi Championship. That triumph came eight months after sealing a second DP World Tour title at the 2022 Dutch Open, defeating Ryan Fox in a play-off on the fourth extra hole, with Perez holing birdie putts from 15 feet and then 30 feet on the 18th to keep it alive, before sinking another long one on the 17th to secure victory.
