Darren Clarke became just the fourth man to capture both The Open and Senior Open after the Northern Irishman a held off a late charge from Padraig Harrington to claim a one-shot victory last year. As well as winning three times on the PGA Tour and 14 times on the DP World Tour, including that Open Championship triumph in 2011, Clarke is widely regarded as a Ryder Cup Legend, becoming the first Captain from Northern Ireland when he led the European team at Hazeltine National in 2016 as well as being on the winning side four times as a player and twice as a vice-captain.
