INFORMATION

 

  • What are the dates of the tournament? 

Thursday 14 September – Sunday 17 September 2023 

 

  • What are the site opening times at Wentworth for spectators during the tournament? 

Gates opening times are: 

 Tuesday 12th September: 08:00 

Wednesday 13th September: 07:00 

Thursday 14th September: 06:30 

Friday 15th September: 06:30 

Saturday 16th September: 07:00 

Sunday 17th September: 07:00 

 

  • What is the tournament format? 

The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event. 

The field will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 65 players (and those who tie for 65th place) will go forward to the third and fourth rounds. 

In the event of a tie for the first place there will be a hole-by-hole play-off. 

 

  • What is the tournament prize fund? 

 USD 9,000,000  

 

  • When is the G4D (Golf for the Disabled) tournament? 

The G4D tournament will take place on Monday 11 September and Tuesday 12 September.  

 

  • Will there be a practice day? 

The official DP World Tour practice day is Tuesday 12 September and open to the public.  

 

  • Where are the practice facilities at the tournament located?  

The practice range for the Championship will be located beside the Clubhouse. 

Putting green is adjacent to the 1st Tee, beside the Practice Range and behind the Clubhouse. 

The short game area for pitching and bunker play is located behind the Clubhouse. 

 

Event facilities 

  • Will there be a first aid team on site?  

Yes, a full medical and first aid team will be available at all times when the site is open.  

 
  • Are there public toilets accessible around the course?  

Yes, there are plenty of public toilet facilities situated around the course and in the Championship Village. 

 

  • Are there water refill facilities available on site? 

There are plenty of refill stations on site, please bring a reusable water bottle. 

 

 

  • Will there be an information desk at the tournament?  

Yes, there will be an information tent located in the Championship Village. 

 

  • How can I access event information whilst at the tournament? 

The BMW PGA Championship digital programme is free, and can be downloaded via the DP World Tour App. Click here to download the App. It is where you will find all the tournament information and updates, including the daily draws, course map, full event schedule and entertainment. 

 

  • Are there grandstands at the tournament?  

Yes, there are free spectator grandstands, at the first tee, 14th green and 18th green. 

 

  • Is there any dedicated wheelchair viewing areas located on site?  

A dedicated wheelchair viewing area will be positioned by the 14th and 18th holes.  Spaces are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. 

 

  • Is there a lost property area on site?  

Yes, the lost property location is at the information centre. 

 

  • Is cash accepted on site?  

No, this is a cashless event, contactless payments only. 

 

  • Will there be merchandise available to purchase on site? 

A wide range of Official 2023 BMW PGA Championship event merchandise will be on sale at the Official Event merchandise store, which is located within the Championship Village and online at the official DP World Tour Merchandise website: www.shop.europeantour.com

  • Can I access general information on the ground rules? 

 Yes, you can access information on the ground regulations at the BMW PGA Championship 2023 here.  

 

  • Is there a charity for the Championship? 

Yes, the official BMW 2023 Championship charity is ‘Campaign Against Living Miserably’, CALM. CALM will have an exhibition unit in the championship village. Spectators will have the chance to participate in various activities and 100% of donations will go to the tournament charities. 

 

  • Can I bring a bag on site? 

Bags and rucksacks are permitted at the Championship. For your safety, security bag searches will be in operation on entry. 

 

  • Are dogs allowed at the tournament? 

 No dogs are permitted on site, unless they are assistance dogs. 

 

  • Is there a dress code for the tournament? 

It would be recommended to wear casual golf wear. Appropriate footwear is advised as the ground may be uneven in places. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey and remember to bring waterproof clothing and / or sunscreen. 

 

Spectator’s Etiquette 

  • Remain still for each shot and do not move until all the Players in the group have played or holed out. 
  • Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row. Consider other spectators when using an umbrella. 
  • Do not speak to the players while they are on the course. 
  • Please keep behind the ropes and barriers on the course and use the official crossing points. 
  • Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable. 
  • There is no dress code in public areas. 
  • Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes allowed. 
  • Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary. 

 

Course 

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways.
