INITIATIVES AT THE 2023 BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

  • Wood recycling: Two local wood charities will benefit from our left over wood, creating circularity and supporting mental health. 

 

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions: HVO fuel is powering our generators, reducing emissions by up to 94%. 

 

  • Reduced fuel consumption: 100% of the BMW courtesy car fleet will be electric or hybrid. 

 

  • Carbon neutral: TV production will be powered 100% by hydrogen, with zero emissions. 

 

  • Waste and Recycling: We will be monitoring our waste output and endeavour to have zero waste to landfill. 

 

  • Renewable energy: Almost 50% of our lighting towers are run by solar panels.  

 

  • Reduced plastic: Over 40,000 plastic water bottles saved by providing fans free drinking water. All catering cups will be reusable.  

 

  • Food waste: using locally sourced produce and suppliers where possible as well as ensuring sufficient vegan and vegetarian options. All our surplus food is going to feed the needy at local food charities. 

 

  • Transport: Free Park and ride for fans.  

 

  • A paperless event: Digital tickets and programmes and a cashless event.
