Bienvenida de Club de Golf Alcanada

Estimados abonados, amigos y visitantes,

El European Challenge Tour es un trampolín para la próxima generación de estrellas mundiales del golf.

Jugadores del calibre de Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Tommy Fleetwood y Tyrell Hatton estaban jugando regularmente en el Challenge Tour en la última década y cuentan ahora con títulos del Tour Europeo y el éxito de la Ryder Cup en su lista de logros.

Hay muchos más como ellos que desde entonces han disfrutado de carreras excepcionales en el Circuito Europeo y más allá.

Hay dos golfistas que se han adjudicado seis títulos principales; Martin Kaymer (dos) y Brooks Koepka (cuatro). Claramente, el Challenge Tour ha demostrado ser un entorno que ha ayudado a producir algunos de los mejores golfistas del planeta.

Mucho antes de que se lograran esas famosas victorias en los eventos más importantes del deporte, debe haber habido momentos durante esas interminables horas de dedicación, sacrificio y práctica donde esos jugadores cuestionaron (incluso si fue solo por un momento fugaz) si alguna vez se alcanzarían sus ambiciones. Pero cualquier cosa que realmente valga la pena lograr, rara vez es fácil y se trata de estar listo para demostrar tu valía cuando surja la oportunidad.

En el Club de Golf Alcanada, nuestro objetivo es aprovechar al máximo nuestra fantástica oportunidad y exhibir el golf en Mallorca.

Desde la apertura del club en 2003, nuestra ambición ha sido organizar un evento de alto perfil. Por lo tanto, es un gran orgullo lograr esto y nuestro agradecimiento debe ir al Challenge Tour, a las Federaciones de Golf de Baleares y España por su asistencia y apoyo para hacer realidad nuestra ambición.

Ahora es un honor dar la bienvenida a 45 jugadores talentosos, algunos de los cuales seguramente competirán por títulos importantes o se convertirán en héroes de la Ryder Cup por derecho propio en los próximos años.

Esta es su oportunidad y les deseamos suerte en hacer realidad sus ambiciones.

Dear members, friends and visitors,

The European Challenge Tour is a fertile breeding ground for the next generation of global stars.

Golfers of the calibre of Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrell Hatton were all playing regularly on the Challenge Tour within the past decade and they now boast European Tour titles and Ryder Cup success on their list of achievements. There are many more like them who have since gone on to enjoy exceptional careers on the European Tour and beyond.

Then there are two golfers who have gone on to claim six Major titles in Martin Kaymer (two) and Brooks Koepka (four). Clearly, the Challenge Tour has proved itself as an environment which has helped produce some of the best golfers on the planet.

Long before those famous victories in the sport’s biggest events were achieved, there must have been times during those endless hours of dedication, sacrifice and practice where those players questioned (even if it was only for a fleeting moment) if their ambitions would ever be realised.

But anything truly worth achieving, rarely comes easily and it is about being ready to prove yourself when the opportunity arises.

At Club de Golf Alcanada, we also aim to make the most of our own fantastic opportunity and to showcase golf in Mallorca.

Since the club opened in 2003, staging a high-profile event has been our ambition. So it is a source of great pride to achieve this and our thanks must go to the Challenge Tour, the Balearic and Spanish Golf Federations for their assistance and support in making our ambition a reality.

It is now our honour to welcome 45 talented players, some of whom will surely go on to challenge for Major titles or become Ryder Cup heroes in their own right in the coming years.

This is their opportunity and we wish them luck in making their own ambitions a reality.
