Bienvenidos a la Gran Final del Rolex Challenge Tour con el apoyo de The R&A

En nombre del European Challenge Tour, estoy encantado de darles la bienvenida al último evento del Road to Mallorca 2023, la Gran Final del Rolex Challenge Tour con el apoyo de The R&A.

Es fantástico estar de regreso en el maravilloso Club de Golf Alcanada por tercera vez en cinco años mientras los jugadores más prometedores del golf luchan por una de las 20 tarjetas DP World Tour que se ofrecen y una parte del premio de €500.000.

En 2022, Nathan Kimsey se convirtió en el primer inglés en ganar el Road to Mallorca Rankings desde 2016 después de conseguir su segunda victoria de la temporada en Alcúdia, y en 2019 pudimos ver cómo Francesco Laporta conseguía el triunfo de principio a fin para ganar tanto la Gran Final del Rolex Challenge como el Road to Mallorca Rankings.

En ambas ocasiones, nuestros jugadores y el personal disfrutaron de un torneo de primera clase y de una hospitalidad excepcional aquí en Alcanada. Por ese motivo quiero agradecer en especial al dueño del fabuloso Club de Golf Alcanada, el Sr. Hans-Peter Porsche, así como también al director de Golf, Kristoff Both, y al director de Campo, Borja Azpilicueta, por su sociedad y esfuerzos para brindar una experiencia de juego digna de nuestra Gran Final.

La Gran Final del Rolex Challenge Tour ofrece a nuestros miembros la plataforma ideal para alcanzar el éxito mundial y seguir los pasos de los veteranos del Challenge Tour, entre los que se encuentran campeones de la talla de Matthew Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose y Trevor Immelman, así como estrellas de la Ryder Cup, como Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood y más recientemente Robert MacIntyre and Nicolai Højgaard.

Por lo tanto, estoy encantado de que la Gran Final se transmita en vivo en todo el mundo por segundo año consecutivo, lo que brinda a los aficionados la oportunidad de ver cómo se desarrolla la dramática semana mientras se descubren las superestrellas del golf del futuro.

Además, me gustaría dar las gracias a Dino Jaume, presidente de la Federación Balear de Golf, por su constante apoyo tanto al Challenge Tour como al golf en Mallorca. Su compromiso con el desarrollo del golf en la isla de Mallorca es inspirador y merece un reconocimiento especial.

Con el patrocinio de dos de las organizaciones más importantes del mundo del golf, hemos podido llevar este evento a un nuevo nivel y ofrecer un torneo verdaderamente de clase mundial para nuestros miembros y la hermosa isla de Mallorca.

On behalf of the European Challenge Tour, I am delighted to welcome you to our final stop on the 2023 Road to Mallorca, the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A. 

It is fantastic to be back at the wonderful Club de Golf Alcanada for the third time in five years as golf’s most promising prospects battle it out for one of the life-changing 20 DP World Tour cards on offer and a share of the €500,000 prize fund. 

In 2022 Nathan Kimsey became the first Englishman to win the Road to Mallorca Rankings since 2016 after securing his second victory of the season in Alcúdia, and in 2019 we witnessed Francesco Laporta secure victory in wire-to-wire fashion to win both the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final and the Road to Mallorca Rankings. 

On both occasions our players and staff were treated to a first class tournament and exceptional hospitality on offer here at Alcanada. For that I would like to extend special thanks to the owner of the beautiful Club de Golf Alcanada, Mr. Hans-Peter Porsche, as well as to Kristoff Both, Director of Golf, and Borja Azpilicueta, Director of Grounds, for their partnership and shared commitment to deliver a playing experience fitting for our Grand Final. 

The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final provides our members with the perfect platform to achieve global success and follow in the footsteps of Challenge Tour graduates including Major winners Matthew Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose and Trevor Immelman – and Ryder Cup stars, such as Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood and most recently Robert MacIntyre and Nicolai Højgaard. 

I am therefore delighted that the Grand Final will be broadcast live around the world for the second successive year, giving fans the chance to watch the dramatic week unfold as golfing superstars of the future are unearthed. 

I would also like to thank Dino Jaume, President of Federación Balear de Golf, for his continued support of both the Challenge Tour and golf in Mallorca. His commitment to develop golf on the island of Mallorca is inspiring and deserves special recognition.  

Our thanks are also extended to Rolex, for their commitment to the Challenge Tour for over 30 years and as Title Sponsor of our season finale, and to The R&A in their role as Supporting Partner of this event and as custodians of the game we all love. With the patronage of two of the most important organisations within the world of golf, we have been able to take this event to a new level and deliver a truly world-class tournament for our members and the beautiful island of Mallorca.
